Bisi Ibidapo Obe popularly known as Bisi Omo logba logba, has been delivered of a baby girl. Bisi, as we learnt from industry sources, gave birth to a baby girl this morning at Reddington Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos at about 9am as against the initial reported plan of her child delivery in Canada.

TERRY G DENOUNCE FALSE HIT and RUN STORY

Following the reactions the reported hit and run story involving the 'Akpako Master, Gabriel Amanyi otherwise known as Terry G, have generated, the former R&B singer, who later delved into dancehall style of music, has now reacted to the story claiming that such never happened.
In an official statement released by Terry G through his management team, 03 Media, made available to Nigeriafilms.com a moment ago, the singer claimed that the hit and run story involving him is false. Terry G didn't deny the fact that he was at the club on the said day, but he said that even though he was mobbed by his fans while approaching his car, he didn't hit anybody as reported. He also said he didn't receive any call from the police stating that he was being wanted by them.

Blackout in Nigeria as Egbin Hydro Power Plant Break Down

BLACK out looms in most part of the country as three out of the six turbines of 220 mega watts (MW) each in Egbin Hydro power plants collapsed on Thursday.
When the Nigerian Tribune visited the premises of Egbin power plant in Ijede, a suburb of Lagos State, on Thursday, it was learnt that two units of the largest hydro power plant in Lagos had collapsed.
Egbin power plant has capacity to generate 1320MW when operating at full capacity, but now it is generating below installed capacity at about 660MW.
The Chief Executive Officer of Egbin Hydro power plant, Mr Mike Uzoigwe, said over the phone that he could not entertain calls because of an emergency at hand.

This was the kernel of discussions at the 13th session of the Emmanuel Onyechere Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe with the theme "Synthesis for Nationhood: Ethnic Policy and National Integration: From Indigenes to Citizens" which held in Lagos yesterday.

In the keynote address, former President of Sri Lanka, Mrs Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, stated that a country with multi-ethnic nationalities such as Nigeria needs leaders who will accommodate minorities through selfless policies for a breakthrough.

Nigerian Basketballer Shot Dead In USA

 

Police are searching for motive in the early morning shooting of acclaimed basketball star Chinedu Onyeuku who police said had been seen breaking and entering an apartment in the Texas town of Plano.
According to local police, the owner of the Rio Grande Drive apartment said he saw two men on his patio at about 3 a.m. A glass door was smashed and the resident pulled out a shotgun and blasted the two men. Onyeuku, age 29, was killed at the scene but the man managed to escape.

Initial reports said the two men had been attempting to burglarize the apartment.

TERRY G WANTED BY POLICE

According to reports, the Apako Master was at the Club Royale, located on Oba Akran Road, Ikeja to enjoy the Friday grooves with friends when the incident happened.
Eye-witness reports that Terry G was leaving the premises of the club at the dead of night when he recklessly drove out on high speed that led him to crushing a funseeker's leg without looking back.
The victim, whose name was given as Moshood Azeez and a regular caller at the Computer Village Market, Ikeja was rushed by good samaritans to the General Hospital, Ikeja for medical attention.
The matter was later reported at the MAN Centre Police Station, Wemabod Estate, Ikeja.
Sources claimed that Terry G has left the country for the UK without honouring police invitation to him in relation to the incident.
Investigating officer in charge of the case, Corporal Linus Reuben has declared that the police would go after Terry G anytime he returns to the country.
Ms Ngozi Braide, Lagos State PPRO confirmed the incident and she said the police will do everything to arrest the singer.
All efforts to reach the singer's management team also proved abortive as their mobile phones were not reachable.

Nigerian Nurse Faces Trial Over the Death of Baby Whom She Circumcised

A four-week-old boy "bled to death" after a home circumcision carried out by a nurse, a court has heard.

Goodluck Caubergs died the day after nurse Grace Adeleye carried out the procedure without anaesthetic, Manchester Crown Court was told.
The jury heard the 66-year-old only used scissors, forceps and olive oil at an address in Chadderton, Greater Manchester in April 2010.
Mrs Adeleye denies manslaughter by gross negligence.

He has produced tracks for Dr SID, Wande Coal, D'Prince, Darey, Naeto C, Sauce Kid, Ikechukwu & Tiwa Savage. He also collaborated with Jay-Z and Kanye West on the production of Lift Off, featuring Beyoncé on the album Watch The Throne, released on August 8, 2011.

Hit-and-Run Driver Kills Baby, Injures Mother

 

When on January 14, 2012, Biyi and Bose Bolaji had their first baby, family and friends rejoiced with them. However, just 10 months after their bundle of joy arrived, he met his death after being hit by a reckless driver in Abuja.

Bose and another bystander, Emmanuel Amairo, were hit by the unidentified driver’s car.

Biyi told our correspondent that his wife, who was carrying his late son, Adeyemi, was about to get a cab along Airport Road and were standing by the roadside when they were run over by the car.

Newspaper Vendor Killed For Saying NO To Free Reader

 

A newspaper vendor in Calabar, Cross River State, Mr. Innocent Monday-Francis, was on Thursday murdered after an argument that followed his refusal to allow one of his neighbours, identified as Eno, to read the papers.

Monday-Francis (22), who sold newspapers around the popular Flour Mill junction, along the Murtala Mohammed Highway in Calabar, had retired to a neighbourhood bar at Ikot-Effanga area of Calabar to take a bottle of drink when the incident occurred.

Singapore Cabdriver Returns $900,000 to Forgetful Passengers

A Singaporean cabdriver discovered a black paper bag brimming with money in the back of his taxi after dropping off a Thai couple who were on vacation, AFP reports.  Seeing the number of Singaporean $1,000 bills in the bag, the cabbie immediately got worried, he told the Straits Times.

“When I saw the money, I thought, trouble is here. I was sure there was at least $200,000 in the bag,” Sia Ka Tian told the newspaper. He turned the money over to his company straightaway.

Man Collapses During Hearing at Edo Gov Tribunal

 

A mild drama occurred on Thursday, at the resumed sitting of the Edo State governorship election petitions tribunal, as a middle-aged man collapsed while a witness was testifying that fraud marred the July 14 election in the state.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Major-General Charles Airhiavbere (retd), was challenging the re-election of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) at the tribunal.
