Texas Father Carves Pentagram in Son’s Back in Honor of 12/12/12

Brent Troy Bartel, 39, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for carving a pentagram into his six-year-old son’s back in honor of the “holy day” – 12/12/12 – a once-in-a-century event. His bond is $500,000. Bartel told authorities in Fort Worth, Tex., “I shed some innocent blood. I inscribed a pentagram on my son.

 

Bartel called police shortly after midnight to report his indiscretion.

The boy’s mother ran to a neighbor’s house who also called 911. She can be heard on the recording saying, “He’s trying to hurt my 6-year-old” and “Please hurry… Oh, God!”
When officers arrived, the boy was wearing only pajama pants, no shirt. His back was covered with a large pentagram like the one in the photo. Police believe it was carved with a box cutter.
