Mario Balotelli & Roberto Mancini engage 'training ground bust-up'


A picture agency has released photographs it says were taken on Thursday morning of the pair having to be separated by staff and team-mates at Carrington training ground.
City have declined to comment.
Mancini is expected to answer questions about the incident at his news conference on Friday morning.
"It's believed Mancini reacted to a challenge from Balotelli on one of his team-mates," said BBC radio 5 live senior football reporter Ian Dennis.

Balotelli's Sister Pregnant for Obafemi Martins

There are reports that Mario Balotelli’s sister Abigail is expecting a child with former Inter striker Obafemi Martins.
According to ‘Diva e Donna’ magazine in Italy, Abigail BarwuahBalotelli’s biological sister – is pregnant.
The father is said to be Martins, a 28-year-old striker at Inter, Newcastle United, Vfl Wolfsburg, Rubin Kazan, Birmingham City and now Levante.

Gov. Wada Discharged from Hospital

Governor Idris Wada, the Nigerian governor injured in a fatal accident last week Friday has been discharged to go home.
He will continue his physiotherapy for his broken thigh bone at his home in Abuja.
Cedar Crest Hospital, where he was admitted last week in Abuja, had hinted that he would be discharged soon, after the visit of Nigeria’s president, Goodluck Jonathan.

A 29-year-old freelance photographer, named by TMZ as Chris Guerra, was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday night after taking pictures of the singer's white $200,000 Ferrari in Los Angeles.
The star's friend, 19-year-old rapper Lil Twist, was behind the wheel of the 458 Italia Ferrari when it was pulled over by police - prompting Guerra to get out of his own car as he believed Bieber was in the vehicle.

Armed robbers hit Apple Store in Paris

The robbers, police say, were "well informed" and had carefully chosen the time and place of their heist.
As police officers were busy keeping an eye on areas popular with New Year revelers, four armed and masked robbers forced their way into an Apple store in central Paris and made off with as much as $1.3 million worth of iPhones, iPads and other devices.
The robbers forced their way through a service entrance into the store, which had closed for the day, using violence to intimidate store employees, said Agnes Thibault-Lecuivre, a spokeswoman for the Paris prosecutors office.

10 People Dies at Angola vigil crush in Luanda stadium

 Ten people have been crushed to death and 120 injured in Angola as they tried to enter an overcrowded stadium for a New Year's Eve vigil, reports say.
The dead were asphyxiated or crushed at the gates of Luanda's Citadela Desportiva stadium, where a Pentecostal Church was to hold the event.
Far more than an expected 70,000 people attended, said a representative for the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God.
Four children were among the dead, emergency services reported.
The Church was established in 1977 in Brazil, and is represented in more than 100 countries, according to its website.

60 killed in Ivory Coast's New Year's Stampede

 
Ivory Coast's president declared three days of national mourning and promised a speedy investigation into the New Year's Day stampede that killed 60 people, most of them women and children.
"The president of the republic offers his saddest condolences to the families and close relations of the victims and ensures them of his compassion in those painful circumstances," President Alassane Ouattara's office said in a statement issued Tuesday night.
Ouattara went to the scene of the disaster and has ordered the government to take care of the injured, his office said.

94 year old Man Becomes Japan’s Oldest Election Candidate

 Some seem to take the phrase “you’re never too old” to the extreme. A 94 year old man just filed his candidacy, three hours before the deadline, to represent the 12th district of Saitama Prefecture, becoming the oldest of 1,504 candidates in Japan’s general elections this month.

Fake Soldier Arraigned For Assaulting LASTMA Officers

A fake soldier, Kingsley Ighalo , 37, has been arraigned on a five-count charge at the Special Offences Magistrate Court in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria for assaulting an officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA.
He was arraigned before Magistrate Yetunde Pinhero for assaulting Ayinla Adeola and Adeshina Akinwunmi, officials of LASTMA at Bolade area of the state on Wednesday.

Anglican Primate, Adetiloye Dies

Retired Archbishop and Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Joseph Abiodun Adetiloye, 83, is dead. He died 1 a.m. today at his hometown in Odo-Owa, Ekiti State.
His son, Adeola Adetiloye, confirmed the death. Adeola described his father as a man who dedicated his entire life to one dream, one purpose, one vision, the church.
“He often tells us that his failed marriage was a blessing in disguise and that if it hadn’t failed, he wouldn’t have devoted his life like he did to the church.Infact, he was married to the church,” he said.

27 Dead in Connecticut Elementary School Shooting

A shooting at a Connecticut elementary school Friday left 27 people dead, including 18 children, an official said.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was still under way. Another official, speaking on condition of anonymity for the same reason, said the gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown was killed and apparently had two guns.
Stephen Delgiadice said his 8-year-old daughter heard two big bangs and teachers told her to get in a corner. His daughter was fine.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala's Mother Freed

Professor Kamene Okonjo, mother of Nigeria’s finance minister, has been freed by her abductors.
The retired 82 year old professor of sociology and Queen mother of the Delta state town of Ogwashi Ukwu, was kidnapped Sunday by 10 armed men in her husband’s palace when she came out to serve drinks to workers.
Reuters reported her release this morning, quoting a security source.
“She has been released now by her captors and she is at home,” said the source, who had confirmed Kamene Okonjo’s kidnapping on Sunday in Delta state.

Dana Air commences Final payment of $70,000 to Families of Crash Victims

 THE management of DANA Air, on Thursday, said it had commenced the final payment of $70,000 (about N10.5 million) to families of each of the victims of the June 3 air crash in Lagos.
The Head of Corporate Communications, DANA Air, Mr. Tony Usidamen, made the disclosure in a chat with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.
It will be recalled that a DANA flight from Abuja to Lagos crashed on June 3 at Iju-Ishaga, Lagos, killing all 153 persons on board, and some others on the ground.

40-year-old Woman Breastfeeds Tiger Cubs

Two tiger cubs, one male, one female were taken from her mother when she killed the third one in her litter.

They are now been bosom fed by a wet nurse, Hla Htay, at the Yangon Zoological Gardens in Burma and by breastfed, straight from her mammary glands.

Ms Htay, 40, the partner of an employee at the zoo, told local newspapers that she felt sorry for the animals and offered her services, at least until the cubs grew teeth.

The two are now being raised on bottled milk as well as Hla Htay’s milk four times a day.



Gov. Imoke Dispels Death Rumours, Says He’s Alive


Cross River State Governor, Liyel Imoke, has dismissed rumours making the rounds in the state that he had passed on to the world beyond, emphasising that he was very much alive.
Imoke left the country three weeks ago for medical attention and following his doctors’ advice to spare more time for a comprehensive treatment, the governor is expected to spend two months in the hospital.
Imoke had last Thursday officially transmitted a letter to Cross River State House of Assembly, which empowered his deputy, Mr. Efiok Cobham, to act on his behalf and to as well enable him attend to his health crisis. He told the House of Assembly to take note of two months of accumulated leave, beginning from December 6, 2012 to February 6, 2013.

63 suspects Arrested Over Okonjo’s kidnap

Nigeria Army said on Thursday that soldiers had arrested 63 people in raids as they searched for Prof. Kamene Okonjo, the 82-year-old mother of Finance Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
“Yesterday the Four Brigade raided Ogwashi-Ukwu in search of Mama,” Army spokesperson Roseline Managbe, told Reuters.
“Those arrested are being questioned.”
